Types of component databases
- Master - this is the database of components that ships with the software. NI provides a database of thousands of component symbols, models, and footprints. This is the first place you should look when placing components in a circuit. This database file is stored locally on the computer you are using. This is a read-only database.
- Corporate - this database contains components that the Maker-E stocks and supports. It is stored on the ECE department network drive. This is a read-only database.
- User - this database contains components that you create. By default it is stored on the local machine you are using. This database is read and write capable.
